Mr. Michel Belhumeur is a native of the Mauricie region where he completed his studies in accounting at the University of Quebec in Trois-Rivières. He obtained his chartered accountant designation in 1982 and worked for an international firm until 2000, when he founded the bankruptcy trustee firm Belhumeur.
He has worked in the insolvency field for almost 30 years. He has held a trustee licence since 1987, having finished first in Canada on the written exam of the Canadian Association of Insolvency and Restructuring Professionals. He has also received the JL Biddell medal for this feat.
During his career, he was involved in several types of mandates including restructuring and liquidation or sale of assets on behalf of companies and secured lenders. He advises companies and financial institutions in the development of strategies aimed at maximizing results and minimizing losses, in the context of insolvency.
Mr. Belhumeur also helps consumers restore their financial situation by offering effective solutions tailored to their needs.
